I am attaching a few more photo's
of the truck with the 8' stepside box, fenders and running boards in their
approximate locations. As far as pinching the frame, I had to widen it
slightly to mate to the rear of the crossmember, then taper the rails in
to match the taper of the chev crossmember, then straighten the rails forward
of the crossmember to match the position of the stock chev steering box
location. I also made a scale side view drawing of the frame rails at the
rake I wanted the truck to have, and then drew in the chev crossmember
with the proper angle of incidence. this showed me the angle I had to taper
the bottom of the frame rail in the area of the crossmember. Lots of work
in that area.
