My 1941 Ford COE P226

I have spent long time of deliberating over a problem
I had with the Wheelbase,
it turned out that if I was to carry my willys Coupe
on the Bed of my COE
The rear Wheels of the Willys would be right on top of
the COE Rear Wheels,
of course I could have moved the Coupe further back on
the bed but that just
wouldn't look right, so I decided to shorten the Wheelbase
by 14" from 158" to 144".
This then allows the Coupe Rear Wheels to sit just behind
the COE Rear Wheels.
The Suspension as I had it before had two tubes going
right through the Chassis
but by moving the tubes forward the tubes interfered
with the Bed Lift "Gizmo"
So I cut the tubes and welded them onto a plate and they
will be mounted by four 1/2" bolts.
The Mounting Bracket slides onto the tube but also has
another Tab at the rear of it
that bolts under the Chassis.
The Spring then fits into that Bracket.
Another Crossmember will be fitted into the Chassis at
the closest possible space
near these mounting brackets to stop the Chassis rail
from flexing.
