This is a Crossmember from the Original Ford Chassis
I was going to use but didn't.
It is being used to support the Scissor Jack I am using
as a bed lift.
After all the extra pieces were removed I had it
Sandblasted, looks much better now !!
Notice the 6 mounting holes on either end.
To get the Crossmember low enough to fit the Scissor
Jack I used these section of 2" RHS
These Threaded plates fitted inside the 2'' RHS which
was then bolted to the Crossmember ends
Here you see it all fitted up with notches to clear the
Transmission and bolted to the underneath of the top
Chassis rail with 2 1/2" bolts each side.
The Motorised Scissor Jack is attached to the Crossmember
by sliding under a bolted on tab,
the other end still needs to be attached to stop it from
slipping out.
The Jack has the capacity of 4,000 Lb so should lift
the Bed the required 7" to clear the Engine
and allow a car to be put on the Bed.
