What you see here is the start of a slide on Camper that I want to build for my COE bed
As I am waiting for my chromed windscreen frame and quarter window frames to come
back and for my son Matt to finish painting all the rear panels, I thought that as the frame
for the swap meet box is done I might as well start on the slide on camper.
The base for the Camper is 2"x 3" RHS on top of that will be 1"x 2" floor frame supports
The most important part I needed to work out was the bed frame which will be 4' 6" wide
so that was made with 38" vertical uprights from the bed level
Here you can see the bed frame in position, no the lights are not on, that's the reflectors.
The Bed will sit above the engine and will be just above the header tube,
note how the upright is about 1/16" from touching the bed frame.this way
the skin will hide the cross members and just look a lot neater, this camper
will have a pop top which will be at the same height as the Cab roof.
If it was any higher then I would not be able to get the truck with camper
on board through the under house garage,
