Tony Nicholas 1938 Ford COE  Page 25

The use of the 1938 Ford pickup rear fenders makes thing look right.
It also make it easy to use the long, one piece 1938 Ford pickup running boards.

As far as enlarging the rear wheel lip openings, that is a must if I want to change a tire without removing the fender.
With the dually rear axle, the rim has to slide 5" off the hub before the tire comes off.
With the small 28" opening and a 31" tire, I could not remove the tire.

I'm not going to rework the wheel lip opening until October. I am saving this project for our International Metal Meet.
One of the greatest metal shaper from Australia (Peter Tommasini) will be showing everyone how to open up
and re roll the edge again. We will be using Hoosier tipping dies on my bead roller. I will post pictures of the process as soon as they're done.
