The gap that you see is the Lower Door Post or B Pillar area that had to be replaced due to rust,
The Sill Panel has been braced so that it stays where it is supposed to.
Same area different angle, as you can see the Lower area around the back of the Cab
had the same Cancer problem. Of course now that Skip has built the Lower Cab Platform,
you get a stable square work area that makes working on it a lot easier.
