1956 Ford C600 COE

I
believe this took about a year and a half to build this COE, but
back then it was
only one day per week..year and a
half one day a week, about 75 - 80 days I estimate,
with of us working about 6 hours a day. We
also built the flat bed from scratch.
Stainless steel wheel simulators set it off, not sure
what they call them down there,
basically ‘wheel covers’. (I just think it is an unusual
name)
This is the truck I had to have towed on the ‘maiden
run’ when the starter quit..
I had to have a new stock reproduction VIN Tag made.
I took a picture if the original number on the original frame,
and a photo of the frame
(which I still have) an independent DMV service verified
the number was correct,
and she took care of all of the DMV paperwork.
I mailed the photos of the frame to a ‘mysterious’ post office
box somewhere in Nevada and $150.00
, two weeks later I had a shiny new VIN tag. I had no title
papers,
the truck had been sitting for about 15 years.
It was in Monterey county which is about 450 miles north
of here, paid $100.00 for it,
trailered it home about 18 years ago.
