What
do you think of these mirrors? I heated and bent
the stock mirror arms down and back.
I am also thinking of putting another bend in them
so the last three or four inches of the mount arm is
level with the ground.
On the close-up of the mirror arm, there is a dark
mark where I would bend them level.
I am also thinking of using the mounting bolt to
mount the convex mirrors.
With the stock mirror
arm position, there were two
problems. I found that the
mirrors were so high (and small)
that when pointed to see traffic
behind me,
I could not see the back of the
bed. When I pointed them
downwards towards the bed corner,
then I could not see behind me.
It was also
impossible to see the passenger side
mirror in the stock location as it
is hidden from view by the
windshield post.
That’s why I bent them several
inches backwards.
I’ve seem the
stick-on mirrors too, but I’d rather not cover
any mirror surface since there is so little to
start with.
Judging from this picture below, there is
not much room to mount a convex mirror, so I
might have to use the stick on after all.
Here is the view of my
mirror on the passenger side from the driver’s
seat.
