I also Z-d the chassis, just under the cab edge.   I used a C-30 front end with steering modifications.  I wound up installing two idler arms on an early C-30 center link (same hole size on both ends of the center link).  Then I used the drag links from a C-30, 4 wheel drive, to link a Chevrolet car steering box to a plate welded onto the center link. (The car box mounted on the inside of the frame).  I had to build a new flat pitman arm and have a tapered hole machined into the welded plate.  This design let me place the column in a good location.  It is super heavy duty and most importantly, safe.

I built a tilt flat bed and put the engine under it.
Under the bed are two sheet metal boxes that curve to follow the bed front and are bead rolled to look Art Deco.
I used the same theme on the inside on a center console and around the seat mounts.
I fabricated a fiberglass overhead console to hose the radio.

I changed the firewall and toe board angle too.  I moved the firewall forward, even with the rear edge of the hood to allow me to install a factory A/C unit out of a Dodge Dakota Pickup truck.  I lowered the angle of the toe board to make it more comfortable on my ankles. The angle change makes a huge difference, but is a lot of work.

I run a 350 Chevy engine, 700-R4 transmission, and a Chevy 1 ton Dump truck differential (narrower width)

I’ve yet to hear it run or drive it.  I can’t wait for it to be done.   Plans are to paint it dark blue metallic with orange flames over the entire front end, fenders and roof…but color choices change around here constantly, so I’ll tell you the color three weeks after it’s done. (I’ve been know to repaint cars even after they are done)
