Had to use some monkey motion to get a good feel on the accelerator pedal.
Direct connection of cable did not result in sufficient pedal travel.
Introduced this bell crank to multipy travel.
It also made for a better cable installation because the cable only had to turn through 270 degrees instead of 360.
I like the complexity of it, kind of Rube Goldberg.
I love this beautiful art deco speedometer from Classic Instruments. Quad gauge cluster is yet to be installed.
Dash openings required enlargement to 4 5/8 inches.
Switch knobs are art deco style from SoCal Speed Shop. High beam, turn signal and alternator lights are LED units from SoCal.
Paint job is temporary and is only to prevent rust. Final paint will be a couple of years in the waiting.

Power steering gets power from pump with remote reservoir which came from Performance Steering Components out of Texas.

Here is the final destination of the steering input. I used a rag joint to isolate cab from chassis and allow some flex between the two.
Considered switching to van steering but frame rail was formed to mount this box.

Here is the Wizard Fabrication offset box bolted to the floor board.
Steering input is 14 inches offset from output allowing steering column to be positioned for comfort and maximum use of tilt steering feature of column.

Here is the reason for using the "Shorty" column. Steering output exits the cab through the firewall instead of the floor between driver's feet.
I put a window in the firewall to enclose the exit. Three holes to the left are for dimmer switch.
I used a piece of cardboard to eliminate the distraction of the busy engine for the photo.
Sides of engine cover will be fabricated from fiberglass. Please forgive missing paint, dirt, etc.
Pretty paint will come later after extensive field testing of all systems. Floor boards are made from solid oak.
Big screw heads fasten Wizard Steer Clear offset chain drive for steering.

Two column drops are needed when using the short column.
ididit made mounting the column easy with a steel plate with slots pre-cut for the mounting studs on the drops.
Mounting plate is supported by lower edge of dash and the firewall.
It is also bolted to the modified P30 brake pedal support, which gives the whole system rigidity.
U-joints are Flaming River stainless pinch bolt design with a polished Borgeson shaft.

Steering system starts here at driver input.
I chose a Wheel Vintiques 1940 Ford repro in 15 inch diameter topped with the optional V8 horn button.
Column is a 16 inch long tilt "Shorty" from ididit.
