After getting the COE passed by the engineer and then having
to wait
at least 3 weeks for paperwork to come through I
decided to fix the
radiator as in previous couple of pages and also
remove the FMX transmission
as it was leaking from the front pump and selector
shaft, so the trans was
removed which wasn't easy as I did not leave enough
room between
Transmission and floor of the Bed, so the trans
crossmember had to come
out as well , it was then modified to have the centre
section removable,
this has now all been done and the trans and
crossmember are now back in.
Another thing I wanted to do was to soften the front
suspension,
the Coil springs are F100 but the new shocks were just
too stiff,
so I found a pair of softer shocks in the back shed,
these were
cleaned up and fitted, this required a pair of new top
mounts,
time will tell if it was worth the effort.

Well the 302 Cleveland V8 that I had in the Truck gave up on
the day
I got my plates !!!!
It just lost all oil pressure in all cylinders, I still
haven't worked out why.

I did have this Cleveland 351 V8 that had been sitting on
the workshop
floor for the last 7 years. So a compression test was
done and all cylinders
were ok in the 160/180 psi range Good enough for me,
so it was started
on it's Trolley in both Petrol and then with LPG
After this it was cleaned up and fitted into the Chassis.
