What you see here is a sample of what I am attempting to
do,
an 8" wide strip of 3mm Aluminum checker plate is to
be rolled
over the outer tube on both ends and bent to a 15" tire
radius
This Aluminum wheel support is able to be moved in or out
as
required depending on track width.
So here is the finished result, the section that rolls
around the tube
has another tube inserted in it so that it will
slide
Here is how it will work, the Aluminium will slide,
depending
on the track width of the car being carried. Just in case
I have added a couple of vertical supports which are
welded to the
bottom of the frame with just enough clearance to miss the
Aluminium roll.
On the left you can see both stands , they will attach to
the bed
by 4 1/4" SHCS This is how a wheel will
fit on the stands
with a strap going over the wheel and attached to two ring
bolts
which have yet to be fitted to the Bed.
