This COE started and ended life as a Ma bell Company pole truck with the back window cut out and enlarged.
The roof over the driver was cut open and a weird periscope was bolted on.
The passenger side of the roof was rusted through from all the sediment from the bore dripping on it.
This COE will be resurrected as a 30's tow truck but without the wrecker boom

 
The donor chassis, a 1987 R20 Suburban with a before and after shot
 
Modified the R20 chassis with a G20 steering setup and shortened to 101" WB

Mounted cab to chassis. Rear mounts were a direct bolt-on.      Mid mounts are almost identical to stock.
 
The front mounts and front crossmember/core support mount are custom.
